THE RED
BANDANNA PROJECT
WHY THE PROJECT?
Social and emotional learning curriculum for young people Kindergarten-Undergraduate.
Our Social and Emotional Learning curriculum, inspired by the legacy of Welles Remy Crowther, is thoughtfully designed for students from Kindergarten through Undergraduate. It aims to cultivate essential skills such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social awareness, and responsible decision-making. Developed by a team of seasoned educators with 30 to 40 years of expertise, this curriculum is supported by an advisory group of esteemed educational professionals, ensuring a robust and impactful learning experience for schools and youth programs.
’’
Welles’ life story easily engages the students making the identification of the core values and their importance in the lives of all citizens obvious to students.
OUR REACH

Since the new curriculum was released in 2024, our goal is to be in all 50 states by September 11, 2026. Help us reach our goal by being the first to add your state to the map below.
OUR PARTNERS
Development of the Red Bandanna Project curricula was first supported in 2013 by the Fetzer Institute in partnership with the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust. In 2022, revisions to the Middle School curriculum and development of this website and digital materials were generously supported by Empower.
